When a couple finds out they’re about to become parents, it’s the most joyous time in their lives. But as with any exciting change, the couple may be overwhelmed with all the things they need to do to get prepared for their bundle of joy’s arrival. If you are planning on helping them with this, then hosting a baby shower for them is always appreciated. Here are some ideas to quickly create easy and cute baby shower centerpieces for the party:
Diaper Cake This is one of the cutest baby shower centerpieces ever imagined. Using a bag of disposable diapers, you create round “cake” layers by binding together handfuls of the diapers. Then stack the layers into a layer cake shape and attach them together with tape or ribbons. Once you’ve done that, you can add small baby accessories like pacifiers, baby bottles, rattles and small toys all around the sides of the layers or hanging off the sides. Then add a top to the cake with a small stuffed toy, baby bank or balloons. The parents can take the diaper cake home with them at the end of the shower and use all the items for their new baby.
Gift Basket A baby needs many things so a gift basket is a nice way to create a gift that doubles as a baby shower centerpiece. Using a large basket, fill it with all the little necessities that a baby might need, lots of little gifts and cards. Then place this in the middle of the table and let other guest contribute to filling it with their gifts and cards. The parents can easily tote things home at the end of the party. They will also use it when baby comes to store clothes, diapers or baby supplies in the nursery.
Noah’s Ark – This is a favorite for the parents-to-be expecting twins or multiples. Simply find two or more of the same cute stuffed animals and tie them together with helium balloons. You can set them in the center of the table and each stuffed animal becomes a unique baby gift for each child.
Rubber Ducks- A fishbowl filled with various rubber duckies makes a cute centerpiece for the baby shower. Guests, including any siblings-to-be, can take home a rubber duckie as a favor. You can even plan your shower games or door prizes ahead of time by writing a number on their underside. To make it even cuter, you will want to make sure there is a larger “mommy and daddy” duckie in the bowl for the parents-to-be to take home with them to enjoy. An adorable alternative to the glass fishbowl is to fill a baby bathtub half full with water and let the rubber duckies “swim” in the water.
